SOLARPLATE ETCHING WORKSHOP - 10am to 4pm (one hour break)

SOLARPLATE ETCHING WORKSHOP - Cost: $220 (includes inks) plus $10 per plate. 
INSTRUCTOR: DAN WELDEN
Solarplate Etching technique was developed by Dan Welden  and is a safe alternative to the long traditional etching process. Only sunlight and water are used to develop the image, instead of acid and grounds used in the traditional etching process. The class will focus on exploring this technique that allows the artist to create a range of effects from etching, drawing, lithograph, silkscreen, or photographic effects.  It is a modern cutting edge process used by artists that want to experiment and explore printmaking as an expressive, safe technique.
 
About the Instructor: Dan Welden, printmaker and painter, has had more than 65 international solo exhibitions and has been the recipient of several grants, bringing his art and process to places around the world. 
 
Workshops are limited to 10 students per workshop.
