BID BUDGET VOTE

It’s now time to vote on the proposed BID Operating & Capital Budgets that were initially presented at the BID Annual Meeting in June of this year.

In keeping with its By-Laws, the BID is required to obtain approval from its membership in order to provide a Budget to the Village Board in December and have that Budget incorporated in the Village’s overall economic plan.

Please attend to ask questions, engage in civil discussion, share productive views and vote to approve or reject the proposed budgets. If you are unable to attend, you can complete the attached Proxy.

It should be noted that since the original presentation of the Budgets, the Village of Greenport is now seeking to require the BID to spend $10,000 or as much as 18% of its entire Operating Budget on a high level Audit. The BID Board takes the position that the requirement to conduct such a high level and expensive audit is not required or necessary.
