Information

Tickets as issued may be disputed in a court of law. Please do not send any payment or hearing requests to greenport village hall. All tickets are processed through southold town justice court.

For questions regarding a ticket received in the village of greenport, call 631-477-0248, ext. 201.

Please have the following information ready: ticket number (located in the upper left corner of the summons) and date the ticket was issued.

Vehicles parked outside of lines

All vehicles are required to park within marked lines wherever lines are painted.

Parked outside of markings

Vehicles that are parked outside of designated spots may be subject to a summons. Please ensure you check all markings to confirm you are parked in a designated spot.

Parked longer than permitted schedule

The Village of Greenport enforces timed parking. Please pay attention to time limits and hours of restrictions when parking your car on Front Street, Main Street, First Street and designated spots in the IGA Parking Lot.

2 Hour Parking : 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
30 Minutes Parking : 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Obstructed driveway

When parking, please ensure that your vehicle does not obstruct any portion of a driveway.

Parking where prohibited

Vehicles may only be parked where authorized. Please note that the following are not authorized:

NO STOPPING /STANDING/ PARKING

Uninspected or unregistered

Vehicles parking on any streets and in any Municipal Lot in the Village of Greenport must display a current inspection sticker and valid registration sticker.

Parking on sidewalks

No person shall park a vehicle in whole or part on a sidewalk.

Parked facing wrong direction

Vehicles must be parked facing the direction of authorized travel.

Parked on village street during a snow storm

When 2” or more of snow have fallen, motor vehicles must be removed from all streets within of the Village of Greenport.

A vehicle found to be in violation of this law is subject to a $100 summons for each day the vehicle remains on the street.
